The latest blaze erupted at Tafo Moro Market in Kumasi, demolishing stalls and leaving traders scrambling to assess losses and clear debris. The market, known for its second‑hand shoe trade, was left in ruins after the fire consumed several stalls.
This incident marks the third major commercial fire recorded in Kumasi within a span of three days. Earlier in the week, a mattress manufacturing company was engulfed in flames, destroying a significant number of products, and another fire broke out in a section of the Kumasi Central Market on Friday evening.
Local authorities and fire services are grappling with the growing concern over fire prevention and suppression in the city, as these repeated incidents highlight the urgent need for improved safety measures across commercial hubs.
