Jeremiah Maclean, a former Member of Parliament, has formally filed nomination forms to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Greater Accra Regional Vice Chairman position. The announcement came from his campaign team in a statement dated 6 October 2026, confirming his entry into the contest for the party’s regional executive role.
Maclean said his decision was driven by a desire to strengthen the NDC’s structures across all 34 constituencies in the Greater Accra Region. He described himself as a grassroots‑oriented party member committed to the NDC, noting that his bid would focus on building an election‑ready organisation, promoting unity and reinforcing party structures throughout the region.
The campaign team urged NDC constituency and branch executives, women organisers, youth leaders and other party members in Greater Accra to support his candidature. They highlighted the need for a cohesive and robust party apparatus as the NDC prepares for its internal elections.
Maclean’s entry comes at a time when the NDC is consolidating its leadership ahead of the upcoming internal elections. His experience as a former MP and his emphasis on grassroots mobilisation are seen as assets that could help the party navigate the competitive political landscape of Greater Accra.
As the NDC moves forward with its internal election process, observers will be watching to see how Maclean’s campaign resonates with party members and whether his focus on structural strengthening translates into broader support across the region.
