Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) President Albert Kwabena Dwumfour announced on Thursday, September 3, 2026, that entries for the 30th GJA Media Awards are now open. The submission window will close on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 11:59 p.m., with no possibility of extension.
Dwumfour urged members in good standing to submit works published or broadcast between January 1 and December 31, 2025, early to avoid last‑minute complications. Entries outside this period will not be considered.
The awards, which have long celebrated journalism that strengthens democracy, development, good governance and national discourse, will mark the association’s 30th anniversary this year. “The awards are going to be packed and loaded,” Dwumfour said, highlighting the significance of the milestone.
In addition to the nomination call, GJA launched a new official website, gjaghana.com, to enhance communication and provide members with updates on activities, training, membership and journalist safety. The site is already receiving award entries ahead of its formal launch.
Journalists are encouraged to visit the new digital home regularly and rely on it for official information.
