GIPA CEO Urges Investors to Boost Ghana’s Economy Through New Reforms

Simon Madjie, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority, urged investors to step up capital, technology and expertise at the launch of the Invest Ghana Summit 2026 and the 22nd Ghana Club 100 Awards. The call came as GIPA highlighted how the Big Push Infrastructure Programme, the 24‑Hour Economy, the Accelerated Export Development Programme and the New Economy Programme are opening doors for investors in infrastructure, domestic production, industrialisation and export growth.

Madjie noted recent macro‑economic gains—stronger growth, falling inflation, rising international reserves and a steadier exchange rate—have laid a firmer foundation for investment. He stressed that mobilising capital, technology and expertise is essential to create jobs, expand exports and build a productive economy.

He also drew attention to the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority Act, 2026 (Act 1173), which removed general minimum foreign capital requirements for joint ventures and wholly foreign‑owned enterprises, strengthened investor protections and expanded GIPA’s mandate to deliver more coordinated support.

According to Madjie, the investment environment is being reformed alongside programmes designed to expand economic activity. He called on the private sector to seize the opportunities now available.
