Ghana Post marked World Post Day 2026 by highlighting its digital transformation initiatives and its role in driving national growth, economic development and social cohesion across the country. The celebration, themed “One postal network, infinite possibilities,” saw the postal service join the Universal Postal Union (UPU), the Pan African Postal Union (PAPU) and other global postal administrations.
In a statement, Ghana Post noted that in many rural and remote areas it remains the primary accessible public institution, leveraging generations of trust and an unmatched physical footprint. Beyond delivering letters and parcels, the agency has become an agile, technology‑driven logistics hub connecting businesses and communities nationwide.
The postal service said it is actively bridging physical and digital divides for populations often excluded from digital transformation, including rural communities, women, small and medium enterprises, the elderly and vulnerable groups. “By embedding modern technology across its nationwide network, Ghana Post serves as a reliable gateway, enabling underserved populations to access e‑commerce platforms and essential public services without requiring physical displacement,” the statement added.
Masahiko Metoki, Director General of the UPU International Bureau, said the Post continues to create value for society as it evolves to deliver public services more effectively and enable businesses to grow through e‑commerce. He added that the network is expanding access to financial and healthcare services, advancing secure digital transformation and shaping itself to remain relevant to future generations.

Dr Sifundo Chief Moyo, Secretary General of the Pan African Postal Union, urged African leaders to place the postal sector at the heart of national development agendas, supporting investment in infrastructure, digital services and integrating postal networks into government services and national e‑commerce programmes. He described the postal service as a living network linking people to opportunity, businesses to markets, citizens to government and nations to one another.
Ghana Post also highlighted its tech‑enabled tracking, streamlined supply chain logistics and digital booking platforms that help local SMEs and corporate entities expand nationally and internationally. In response to the needs of families and students, the agency recently launched Skoolbox, a specialised delivery solution that transports essential supplies, learning materials and personal items directly to students in second cycle boarding schools and tertiary institutions across the country.
The management reaffirmed its commitment to existing customers and prospective clients, promising to remain at the forefront of connecting people, businesses and communities through swift, dependable, and continuously evolving services.
