Accra will become the focal point for Africa’s safety, sustainability and workplace protection community this November as AfriSAFE 2026 – Africa Safety Congress & Awards – convenes policymakers, regulators, corporate executives and HSE professionals from across the continent at the Labadi Beach Hotel on November 5 and 6.

Organised under the theme “Safeguarding Lives. Securing the Future,” the two‑day event will feature technical safety, ESG, AI‑driven risk management and organisational resilience discussions, with support from major African businesses such as Tropical Cable, Seplat Energy, Zambia Sugar, Golden Africa Djibouti, GODEF West Africa and Hybrid Group.

Beyond the conference rooms, organisers have pledged free practical first‑aid and emergency‑response training for 1,000 Ghanaians, part of AfriSAFE’s broader aim to equip more than 10,000 people across Africa with life‑saving skills.

“We can have powerful conversations about safety, but the real test is what changes for the person outside the conference room,” said Femi Da‑silva, Founder and CEO of AfriSAFE. “If 1,000 Ghanaians leave with the skills to save a co‑worker, neighbour, or family member, we have created an impact that far outlasts the event.”

The 2026 edition is hosted in partnership with the Ghana Institute of Safety and Environmental Professionals (GhISEP) and the Ghana Electrical Contractors’ Association (GECA), and has the endorsement of Ghana’s Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, Nigeria’s Ministry of Labour and Employment and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

More than 13,000 nominations and entries were received across the continent, with over 8,000 individual entries and 5,000 corporate nominations. The shortlist features major industrial and corporate names such as GB Foods Ghana, AngloGold Ashanti, Nestlé ESAR, Puma Energy, Zoomlion Ghana Limited, UBA Group, and many others.

Delegates will arrive on November 4 for an all‑white “Akwaaba! The Ghanaian Night Experience,” followed by the main congress and technical exhibition on November 5 and 6, and the AfriSAFE Awards and Grand Cultural Night on November 6.

AfriSAFE organisers say bringing the event to Ghana reflects the country’s expanding role as a regional centre for corporate governance, ESG and industrial safety, and they aim to turn safety conversations into practical action both in industry and within communities.
