Ghana’s Black Challenge have been drawn into Group D with Angola, Colombia and Iraq for the 2026 WAFF Amputee Football World Cup in Mexico.
The draw, conducted in San Juan de los Lagos, places the African champions against a diverse set of opponents as they aim for their first World Cup title.
Ghana has built a strong pedigree in amputee football, winning the African Amputee Football Championship in Tanzania in 2021 after a 3-2 victory over Liberia, then taking gold at the inaugural African Para Games in Accra in 2023 with a 2-1 win over Morocco. They retained the African title in Cairo in 2024, again defeating Morocco 2-1, a triumph that also secured their qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
The squad is expected to be announced on Monday, 28 September, at the ESP Hotel in Accra.
The 2026 WAFF Amputee Football World Cup will run from 13 to 22 November in San Juan de los Lagos, Mexico.
