Ghana Export‑Import Bank (GEXIM Bank) presented medical equipment valued at more than GH¢100,000 to the Department of Child Health at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Tuesday, October 13, as part of its 10th‑anniversary celebrations and corporate social responsibility activities.

The donation bundle included patient monitors, vital signs monitors, examination tables, defibrillators, oxygen cylinders, emergency stretchers, IV pole stands, blood pressure monitors, five‑fold ward screens, kidney dishes and disposable bed mats, all aimed at strengthening the department’s capacity to care for children.

During the handover, Emma Nancy Mullen‑Essen, President of the GEXIM Ladies Association, and Papa Kwadwo Abebrese, Chairman of the GEXIM Men Association, highlighted the bank’s commitment to supporting healthcare delivery and pledged to assist with future renovations of the facility.

"We came here this morning to donate these few items to the Child Care Department. We realised that this place needs a lot of things. The entire building needs refurbishment and renovation. We will come back and engage Korle Bu to see what we can do. We also encourage other banks to come on board to help develop this place," she said.

Lawrencia Akweley Turkson, Principal Nursing Officer and Head of Engagements at Korle Bu, thanked the bank and called on other institutions to support the department in improving care for children.

GEXIM Bank’s gesture underscores the growing role of financial institutions in Ghana’s health sector, with the bank encouraging peers to contribute to similar initiatives.
