A fatal crash involving a Toyota Voxy and a MAN Diesel trailer occurred at Anyinasin Junction on the Accra‑Kumasi Highway on Monday, September 28, claiming four lives and injuring a fifth.
According to a Facebook post by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the emergency team received a distress call at 5:21 am and arrived on scene at 5:35 am with a seven‑member crew.
Firefighters worked to extricate victims trapped in the wreckage, secure the scene and maintain traffic flow along the busy highway. The Voxy, registered GR 9430‑26, was completely destroyed, while the MAN Diesel trailer, registered GS 4064‑26, sustained front‑compartment damage.
One male victim was rescued and transported to Kibi Government Hospital for medical care, but four other occupants—three males and one female—were found dead at the scene.
The cause of the collision remains unclear, with investigations still underway. After the emergency response, the site was handed over to police for further inquiry.
