EOCO Questions John Darko Over Alleged GH¢27m SIC Loss

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) summoned Suame Member of Parliament John Darko on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, to discuss an alleged criminal conspiracy that has reportedly cost SIC Savings and Loans Company Limited approximately GH¢27 million.

Mr Darko arrived at EOCO’s office at exactly noon, as stated in the agency’s release, and reportedly cooperated fully with investigators. EOCO described him as respectful, responsive and helpful during the questioning.

Following the interview, EOCO granted Mr Darko enquiry bail, citing the circumstances of the case, applicable law and his level of cooperation. The decision was also said to be based on the ongoing nature of the investigation.

EOCO also noted that former Managing Director of SIC Life Savings and Loans, Amma Frimpomaa Dwumah, had appeared for questioning and was cooperating with the inquiry.

Investigators are still working through the details of the alleged conspiracy, and no conclusion has yet been reached regarding the culpability of any individual involved.

Stakeholders and the public will be kept informed as the probe progresses.
