Ghana has unveiled Do Ghana 7ty, a private‑sector‑led domestic tourism program that will take Ghanaians on a journey across the country to explore its history, culture, food, landscapes and people as part of the Ghana@70 celebrations. The initiative, dubbed ODUM: The Story of Ghana, will officially begin on World Tourism Day, Sunday, September 27, with The Great Ghana Day Out, inviting Ghanaians and visitors to travel to a destination of their choice, experience it and share their stories on social media using #DoGhana.

WangoWango, the movement behind Do Ghana, is partnering with Joy FM and Joy Prime to run the programme through 2027. PaJohn Dadson of WangoWango said the initiative would explore Ghana through places and stories that have shaped the country, from its pre‑independence history to the nation it has become and the Ghana it continues to build.
The campaign will run until December 30, 2026, culminating with Gastropoda‑The Yuletide Table, an alfresco long‑table dining experience that combines Ghanaian food, music, stories, people and the outdoors. The second phase, Go Ghana, will begin in January 2027 with five curated road trips and accompanying road films: Into Odum Country in January, Independence Alley in March, Republic Treks in July, Founders Odyssey in September and Camp RE between November and December. Each journey will focus on a different dimension of Ghana’s national story, including the country’s heritage, independence, republic, founding figures and contemporary identity.

PaJohn described the initiative as a private‑sector contribution to the wider Ghana@70 moment, with the journeys expected to generate broadcast, digital and social media content while giving participants the opportunity to experience the destinations featured.
