On Monday, October 12, 2026, Managing Director Samuel Attah‑Mensah of Citi FM/Channel One TV paid a courtesy visit to Ghana Eximbank to explore collaboration opportunities for the upcoming 2026 Agrifair. The meeting, held at the bank’s headquarters, aimed to strengthen support for farmers, agribusinesses and SMEs, and to create avenues for producers to connect with markets, consumers and investors.
Attah‑Mensah highlighted that the Agrifair is designed to showcase the challenges facing Ghanaian farmers, notably limited access to markets, distribution networks and transportation. He noted that while farming is widespread, much of it remains subsistence‑based, constraining commercial expansion. “The whole idea was to bring out some of the challenges faced by our farmers and to amplify the opportunities for them in terms of access to market, distribution, transportation and all the related elements up to the consumer,” he said.

He explained that Citi FM/Channel One TV sought to partner with Eximbank because of the bank’s role in supporting agricultural SMEs and medium‑scale farmers. “We believe that the essence, one of the elements that you have expressed as an organisation, is to support farming and the agribusiness SME space and medium‑scale farmers, and so we thought that we would try and get you aligned to what we are doing,” he added. Attah‑Mensah urged the bank to encourage its supported businesses and farmers to participate in the three‑day event, scheduled for November 27‑29, 2026 at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra. The timing was chosen to precede National Farmers’ Day and to offer consumers a chance to purchase locally produced goods ahead of Christmas.
Ghana Eximbank CEO Sylvester Mensah welcomed the delegation and confirmed the bank’s readiness to collaborate. Mensah said the bank would set up a three‑member team to work with Citi FM/Channel One TV, identify cooperation areas and establish measurable targets for the initiative. “We are ready; we are willing to work with you. We will put together a three‑member team that will collaborate with you and see what we can do as an improvement of what we have done in the past,” he said.

Head of Events and Partnerships at Citi FM/Channel One TV, Frema Adunyame, noted that the Agrifair provides a platform for farmers to reach consumers directly, potentially reducing intermediaries that drive up prices. She said partnership with Eximbank could help farmers access investment and other support needed to expand operations. “If there is a platform like the Agrifair where we would have farmers coming directly into contact with consumers, it helps everybody, and they are also looking forward to investment, to open up, and that is where partnership with the Eximbank is very key,” she observed.
General Manager for Projects at Ghana Eximbank, William Obeng, reaffirmed the bank’s support for agricultural producers across value chains, including rice, vegetables, maize and oil palm, and pledged continued backing to reduce reliance on imported food. The delegation also included Business Development Manager Omane Mensah‑Bonsu, Radio Sales Manager Miriam Ivy Oduro and Head of Events and Partnerships Frema Adunyame. The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to explore concrete collaboration avenues for the 2026 Agrifair.
