Two students from Ada Senior High Technical School were convicted by the Ada West District Court after changing their pleas to guilty in an assault case that unfolded in February 2026. The 20‑year‑old Oscar Amemasor and 18‑year‑old Emmanuel Senunya faced charges of assault and abetment of assault against a fellow pupil.
Video footage of the incident, which showed Amemasor striking the victim with a metal bar while Senunya was seen holding a cutlass, circulated widely on social media. The prosecution presented these details to the court.
Following the plea change, the court sentenced the students to a 12‑month bond of good behaviour. Lawyer Enock Teye Sewornu explained that the decision to plead guilty was made in their best interest, allowing the case to be resolved swiftly and enabling the students to return to their studies after receiving their results and preparing for university admission.
Both students and their parents expressed relief at the outcome, hoping the sentence will allow them to focus on their education without further legal complications.
