The 7th Ghana Credit Excellence Awards will take place on 10 October 2026 at the Vice Chancellor’s Complex, Legon, Accra. The event is organised by the Chartered Institute of Credit Management Ghana (CICMG) and will bring together executives from universal banks, community banks, microfinance institutions, debt‑collection agencies and other players in the country’s financial ecosystem.
Since its inception, the awards have grown into a key event on Ghana’s financial services calendar. CICMG’s Executive Secretary, Agyapong Amo, said the ceremony is “not just about celebration. It is a platform that reinforces the values of sound credit management, ethical leadership and financial inclusion that are critical to Ghana’s economic development.”
The awards will feature categories that recognise institutional performance, brand strength and individual leadership. The Business Excellence category will honour top‑performing institutions, while the Brand Excellence category will highlight those with strong, trusted brand positioning in loans and advances. Leadership Awards will spotlight individuals whose guidance has significantly boosted institutional performance and the broader financial sector. A Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented to an individual whose sustained contribution has left a lasting legacy.
The theme for 2026 is “Beyond Stabilisation: Building a Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Financial Sector,” underscoring the need to consolidate recent reforms and foster a system that promotes stability, investment, entrepreneurship and shared prosperity.
Attendees can expect remarks from distinguished personalities in Ghana’s financial and regulatory establishment, offering insights on current developments and challenges. The evening will combine recognition, industry dialogue and networking, with red‑carpet arrivals beginning at 5:00 p.m.
As Ghana’s banking sector navigates a changing macro‑economic and regulatory environment, the awards serve not only to celebrate achievements but also to reflect on progress, reinforce ethical standards and promote a stronger, more inclusive financial system.
