Volta Region secured a place in the next stage of the 2026 Literacy Challenge after a tightly contested match against Upper West Region. The victory was decided on a series of knowledge tests covering general knowledge, English literature, mathematics, science, and logical reasoning.
Representing Volta were Gabriella Maufemor Mensah, Samuel Danku and Austin Deladem Agortse. Upper West sent Devine Yanbefaare Ambalakuu, Gbemmie Abass Sharika and Manuel V.P. Eledi to the arena.
The competition, organised by Channel One TV in partnership with Citi FM and sponsored by Deli, Tema Oil Refinery, SIC Insurance, Prospectus Ghana and Advocate Publishing, saw the Volta trio outperform their counterparts across all disciplines.

With the win, Volta will continue its campaign in the contest while Upper West has been eliminated from the 2026 edition.
