The Ghana Police Service announced on Tuesday that the full implementation of its automated traffic law enforcement programme, TRAFFITECH‑GH, will now take place on 1 November 2026 instead of the previously scheduled 1 October.
The Motor Traffic and Transport Department said the change allows for a “more extensive public awareness and education” campaign before the system goes live.
The education drive will cover how TRAFFITECH‑GH operates, the traffic offences it will detect and the Electronic Notices of Violation (ENV) that will be issued to offending motorists.
TRAFFITECH‑GH is part of the Service’s broader effort to curb road indiscipline and improve compliance with traffic laws and regulations.
Police urged drivers, vehicle owners and motorists to use the extra month to familiarize themselves with the programme ahead of its rollout.
The Service thanked the media for its “unflinching support throughout the introduction of the project” and reaffirmed its commitment to working with stakeholders for a successful implementation that will enhance road safety.
