Theovision International Delivers Free Health Care to 2,500 Residents in Ashanti and Bono East

Theovision International rolled out a free medical campaign in the Anyinofi and Watoro communities of the Ashanti and Bono East Regions, treating roughly 2,500 residents for a range of ailments and enrolling 401—mainly women and children—into the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) or renewing their coverage.

During the week‑long exercise, the team screened for conditions such as rheumatism, malaria, upper respiratory infections, gastritis, skin diseases, conjunctivitis, hypertension, peptic ulcer, cataract, otitis media, diabetes, typhoid, insomnia and arthritis. The campaign also reached inmates at Ejura Prison, providing them with the same free medical services.

Mr. Kwadwo Osei Sarfo, District Director of Health at Atebubu, praised Theovision for its “massive medical outreach” and highlighted how the data will guide future health interventions in the district.

President Theodore Philip Asare of Theovision reiterated the organisation’s commitment to supporting rural communities, saying, “At Theovision International, bringing hope to the hopeless, supporting especially the vulnerable is key and we are always delighted to contribute our quota to society.” He added that this is not the first outreach and it will not be the last.

Theovision, a Christian non‑profit that records the Bible in over 500 African languages, aims to combine medical care with counselling and Christian support for those in need.

Looking ahead, the Ghana Health Service plans to use the collected data to allocate resources and enhance health care delivery across the region.
