Olive Africa Partners Fashions Ltd, a wholly owned Ghanaian investment company, has taken full control of TexStyles Ghana Limited, the producer of the celebrated GTP and Woodin fabric brands. The deal, which also transfers all trademarks, was completed after Vlisco BV sold its entire shareholding in the company.

The transaction places co‑founders Kofi Kwakwa and John Gadzi at the helm as principal shareholders, while the existing management team will remain in place. Kwakwa said the move is “deeply meaningful” to him, recalling his childhood memories of his mother trading GTP cloth to support their family. “John and I deem it a great honour to take over this historic company and the iconic GTP and Woodin brands and are excited about building on their legacy for the future,” he added.

TexStyles Ghana has operated for decades in the West African textile market, supplying fabrics across Ghana and beyond. The company confirmed it will keep its Ghanaian operations running and continue serving customers through its established distribution network throughout West Africa.

Vlisco Group CEO Perry Oosting welcomed the transition, noting the brands’ deep ties to Ghanaian and West African cultural heritage. “TexStyles Ghana Limited and its brands are deeply connected to Ghana’s and West African cultural and textile heritage,” Oosting said. “We are pleased that the company will continue its journey with a dedicated Ghanaian‑based investor who, together with the current management, understands the industry and its potential.”

Managing Director Kodwo Agyenim‑Boateng expressed optimism about the change, thanking Vlisco for its long‑standing partnership and welcoming the new shareholders. He said the company looks forward to working together to advance the business.

The acquisition is expected to finalize in the coming weeks, pending the completion of all regulatory and administrative requirements. The move marks a significant milestone for Ghana’s textile sector, underscoring local ownership and investment in a heritage industry.
