At IFA 2026, TECNO secured two IFA Global Product Technology Innovation Awards, recognising its pioneering approach to device architecture and performance. The company’s ultra‑slim modular smartphone, measuring a mere 4.9 mm in thickness, took home the Ultra‑Slim Magnetic Modular Technology Innovation Gold Award, while the Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS – a vertical, water‑cooled gaming PC – received the Miniaturised Gaming PC Technology Innovation Gold Award.
The Modular Phone is built on TECNO’s proprietary Modular Magnetic Interconnection Technology, which pairs a precision magnetic array with pogo‑pin connectors to enable a snap‑and‑go ecosystem of ten high‑performance modules. The host device retains a 3000–4000 mAh battery, and modules draw power directly from the phone, allowing users to tailor the device to their needs without compromising its portless, unibody design that achieves an IP rating for dust and water resistance. The phone also serves as a physical gateway for personal AI assistants, addressing the challenge of meeting growing AI computing demands in a compact form factor.
Meanwhile, the Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS, with a chassis volume of approximately 6.36 litres, is one of the world’s smallest water‑cooled gaming PCs. It houses an Intel® Core™ i9‑13900HK and NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5060, delivering 614 AI TOPS, 145 W TGP and DLSS 4. The system features 15 ports, including OCuLink and USB4, Wi‑Fi 6E, and an integrated water‑cooling loop that maintains peak frequencies under load. The device’s vertical form factor and panoramic transparent window combine a compact footprint with the bold aesthetic associated with Tonino Lamborghini.
Both products have already attracted praise from leading tech and design outlets. The Modular Phone earned over 20 accolades, including Best of MWC 2026 by CNET and Yanko Design, and was named Best Mobile Tech at MWC 2026 by The Verge. The TAURUS has also received a Yanko Design Best of MWC award. TECNO plans to move the Modular Phone into mass production soon.
At the same event, TECNO showcased its Next‑Gen Bezelless Concept Phone and the MEGABOOK T15 360 Pro, signalling the brand’s continued push into futuristic device design that blends engineering, design and AI.
