The early Saturday operation across hotspots in Accra and Kumasi targeted criminal networks using street begging as a front to exploit foreign nationals, with Comptroller General Samuel Basintale Amadu urging the public to stop giving alms directly to migrant beggars and instead donate through recognised welfare channels.
