Ghanaian dancehall artist Stonebwoy visited the Black Challenge, the national amputee football team, at Mensah Sarbah Park on the University of Ghana campus to hand over a donation of GHS100,000 ahead of the 2026 Amputee Football World Cup in Mexico.

During the visit, Stonebwoy addressed the players, saying, “I’m supporting them with GHS100,000. This is a token from me and the Burna Boy Music Group. This is not much at all, but I know it will go a long way to support the group.” He added that the money would help the team prepare for the global stage.

Stonebwoy called for additional financial backing, noting, “We need funds directed to the Amputee team so that they can continue to perform because these are people’s fathers, uncles and our own brothers, and they’re representing the nation.” He also praised National Paralympic Committee of Ghana President Samson Deen for his leadership, saying, “I want to say thank you to the President of NPC Ghana, President Samson Deen, a great man. He has carried a lot on his shoulders, and may God continue to open his wings and bless him so he can continue to make people happy.”

The Black Challenge have been drawn into Group D for the tournament, where they will face Angola, Iraq and Colombia. The squad is expected to leave for Mexico in the coming days as preparations continue.
