Standard Chartered employees volunteered their time and expertise at the 10th edition of the Akua Kuenyehia Foundation’s Empower Her Camp in Akropong, Ghana. The event, themed “Empower Her @ 10: A Decade of Impact, A Future of Possibility,” gathered young women at various academic and professional stages for conversations and learning aimed at preparing them for the future.
As part of the bank’s employee volunteering programme, colleagues led discussions on financial literacy, career development and personal growth. They shared practical insights on fundamental financial principles, the transition from education to employment, and pathways for professional advancement. Participants were encouraged to ask questions, exchange ideas and learn from one another.
Beyond the talks, staff joined participants in icebreakers, camp chants and games, creating an energetic atmosphere that fostered interaction and learning. Attendees walked away with actionable knowledge to build healthier financial habits and make intentional choices about their education and careers.
For the Standard Chartered team, the initiative offered a meaningful way to apply their skills outside the workplace and contribute to community development. The activity underscores the bank’s ongoing commitment to skills‑based employee volunteering and to equipping young people with the confidence and capabilities needed to thrive.
