The APSU Secretariat announced that St Augustine’s College successfully defended the National Investment Quiz trophy in the 2026 competition, following its victory in 2025. The back‑to‑back wins were described as a source of pride for the university.
The National Investment Quiz, an annual event that promotes financial literacy among senior high school students, was highlighted by the Secretariat as a platform that inspires future leaders in finance, economics and business. The competition’s focus on investment fundamentals, stocks, bonds and other financial concepts provides students with a competitive arena to showcase their knowledge.

In the 2026 grand finale, four schools—St Augustine’s College, Mfantsipim School, Prempeh College and Corpus Christi Senior High School—contested the title. Mfantsipim opened strong with 12 points, while Prempeh and St Augustine’s both scored 10. Corpus Christi trailed with 5. St Augustine’s surged in the second round, taking the lead with 19 points, narrowly ahead of Mfantsipim’s 18. The third round kept the contest tight, with Corpus Christi and Prempeh each scoring 13, and Mfantsipim and St Augustine’s matching at 14.
By the fourth round, St Augustine’s had accumulated 40 points, surpassing Mfantsipim’s 36, Prempeh’s 33 and Corpus Christi’s 23. The riddle round added drama as all teams missed the first buzz. Corpus Christi answered the second correctly, followed by St Augustine’s on the third and fourth. Mfantsipim answered the final riddle, but St Augustine’s consistent performance had already secured the advantage needed to retain the trophy.

The Secretariat expressed gratitude to the contestants, coordinators, the Steering Committee, college management and staff for their hard work. It also thanked APSUnians worldwide for their “unflinching support” throughout the competition.
Looking ahead, the APSU Secretariat said it was “very gratified” by the college’s consecutive successes and emphasized the importance of such competitions in nurturing the next generation of financial leaders.
