The sixth Inter Tourism Expo Accra (iNTTA) opened on October 21 at the Ridge Royal Hotel in Cape Coast, inviting investors, policymakers, entrepreneurs and tourism industry players to examine opportunities in Ghana and across Africa.

The three‑day conference, running until October 23, is themed “6th Inter Tourism Expo (iNTTA) and the 24‑Hour Africa Economy, Agribusiness, Digital Sovereignty and AfCFTA Industrial Acceleration Conference and Investment Programme.” It aims to position Ghana as a round‑the‑clock investment destination by strengthening ties across tourism, agribusiness, digital infrastructure, trade and hospitality.

Organised by iNTTA in partnership with the 24‑Hour Economy Authority, Jaksally Development Organisation, the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and International Quest for Tirth and Justice, the event offers a platform for investors and businesses to explore opportunities, forge partnerships and develop initiatives that support economic growth.

The opening day featured discussions on cross‑border payments, fintech, investment opportunities in Ghana and the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). A high‑level briefing on the AfCFTA industrialisation strategy will be delivered by Tsetetso Makong, Director of Framework and Coordinating Programme at the AfCFTA Secretariat, outlining Ghana’s position within the continental free trade framework and highlighting opportunities for Ghanaian, African and diaspora investors.

Other sessions will focus on investment promotion, public‑private partnerships and tourism infrastructure, with contributions from the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority, the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) and the Ghana Enterprises Agency. Dr Mary Acquaye Moore of Cape Coast Technical University will lead a masterclass on tourism as infrastructure investment.

The opening ceremony will feature remarks from traditional authorities and public officials, including Awulae Kwasi Amakyi III, Paramount Chief of the Western Nzema Traditional State, and Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II, Omanhene of the Oguaa Traditional Area. Chief Host Maame Effua Houadjeto and Central Regional Mayor George Justice Arthur are also scheduled to address participants.

On Thursday, October 22, the focus will shift to connecting investment proposals with potential financiers and business partners. Investment pitch sessions for pre‑screened companies seeking capital will run alongside discussions on energy infrastructure, digital systems, hospitality real estate and agribusiness. Participants will examine modular energy solutions for tourism and hospitality businesses, as well as opportunities in fintech, digital trade facilitation and other emerging technologies.

Real‑estate discussions will explore investment opportunities in hotels, short‑term rentals, ecotourism and nature‑based developments, while agribusiness and agro‑processing will feature prominently, with sessions examining commodity markets, supply chain integration and opportunities to link agriculture with tourism. Prof Gabriel Eshun will lead discussions on agribusiness, agro‑processing and agrotourism investment. A separate session will examine the potential for health tourism, positioning Ghana as a destination for medical and wellness services.

The final day, Friday, October 23, will focus on the role of the 24‑hour economy in tourism development, youth entrepreneurship and business expansion. Augustus Obuadum Tanoh, Presidential Adviser to the 24‑Hour Economy Authority, will deliver a policy keynote address. The programme will also examine how small and medium‑sized enterprises can support tourism growth through extended operating hours, stronger local supply chains and increased investment. A panel on youth‑led entrepreneurship will explore how artificial intelligence can help transform side businesses into scalable enterprises, featuring Joseph Amartey, Executive Director of the Tourism Society of Ghana, and representatives from the University of Cape Coast Business School.

The Innovation Zone will provide a platform for selected young entrepreneurs to present ventures spanning tourism, trade, technology, agribusiness and the creative economy to investors and industry leaders. The conference will conclude with a plenary session to formalise commitments, announce partnerships and outline follow‑up actions arising from the discussions.

Beyond the conference sessions, organisers have scheduled site visits to showcase investment opportunities in the Cape Coast area, including tourism infrastructure, cultural heritage development and coastal hospitality projects. The visits are organised in collaboration with the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly and the relevant regional investment authorities. The event will culminate in a beach networking gala at Lush on the Coast in Cape Coast, bringing together delegates, sponsors, government officials and diplomatic representatives.
