Shatta Wale Declares Purpose Over Competition After ShattaFest 2026

On Saturday, October 17, Shatta Wale celebrated his birthday with a sold‑out ShattaFest 2026 at the Accra Sports Stadium, drawing thousands of fans and several prominent personalities.

Following the event, the artist posted on Facebook that his journey has never been about competing with other musicians but about fulfilling a purpose and giving hope to those who have been told they cannot succeed.

He wrote, “I didn’t come to compete. I came to awaken a generation.” The post highlighted that his ambition is to create a path for people who have been written off by society, using his own rise from humble beginnings as an example of what determination can achieve.

Shatta Wale added, “My journey is about purpose, sacrifice, faith, and the millions of people who see themselves in my story.” He further stated, “I came to deliver a message that even a boy from the streets can become a KING without anybody’s permission.”

The concert featured performances from Medikal, Patapaa, Fancy Gadam, Jupitar, Kwesi Amewuga and Sista Afia, among others. Patapaa opened with “One Corner” before delivering his collaboration “Body Fi Body” with Shatta Wale, while Sista Afia joined the headline act for “Jeje.” Medikal highlighted the duo’s hit “Sika.”

Reflecting on his career, Shatta Wale said criticism and comparisons could not take away the purpose he believes God has given him, declaring, “I AM NOT HERE TO BE BETTER THAN ANYBODY. I AM HERE TO BE EVERYTHING GOD CREATED ME TO BE.” He concluded that his life is a message, his struggles are lessons, and his success proves what is possible when one remains committed to purpose.
