Ghanaian dancehall artiste Samini will host Samini Xperience 2026, a homecoming event set for December 24, aimed at putting Dansoman in the spotlight during the holiday season. The event forms part of the DC Carnival, also known as Dan Carnival, organised in partnership with the Dansoman Municipal Assembly.
The week‑long celebration, running from December 18 to 24, will feature community and musical events designed to showcase Dansoman’s culture, talent and entertainment potential. At the media launch on Friday, October 16, at Kegali in Dansoman, Samini explained that Samini Xperience differs from his established Saminifest concert series, which takes performances to various parts of the country.
“Saminifest started as a series of concerts held across the country, but Samini Xperience is a homecoming concept held at a particular venue to give my fans and patrons a good time while celebrating the community that shaped me,” he said. He added that the initiative pays homage to the area where he grew up and began his journey to national and international recognition.
Beyond celebrating his personal connection, Samini said he wants to use the platform to nurture emerging artistes from Dansoman, giving them the exposure needed to develop their careers. He described his vision as grooming young talent and providing opportunities to showcase their abilities without limiting their potential.
Samini expressed optimism about the collaboration with the Dansoman Municipal Assembly, saying the joint initiative would make this year’s celebration bigger and more impactful. “This is going to be bigger because the rest of Dansoman would have done their own and then I will come and do my own thing. But collectively, we will come together as one family and bring the world to come and see what we have,” he said.
The Assembly welcomed the partnership, describing it as a positive development for the municipality. They explained that the idea of organising a carnival for the area had already been conceived before Samini approached them, paving the way for the collaboration.
Samini Xperience is expected to provide an avenue for residents, music lovers and visitors to celebrate the community while giving emerging artistes an opportunity to connect with wider audiences. He called on corporate organisations to support the initiative and assured patrons of an exciting experience.
