Samini, the Accra‑based dancehall icon, said he will not be chasing another chart‑topper in 2026. Instead, he plans to use his platform to elevate young artists from Dansoman, his home district in Accra, through a December event called Samini Xperience.
Speaking at the media launch held at Kegali Hotel, Samini explained that his long‑standing career has given him a responsibility to “return home” and bring the energy of his music to the local community. He added, “I don’t need to sing or write another hit song in 2026; I have a whole lot of young people to push.”
The event, scheduled for December 24 as part of the week‑long DC Carnival, aims to showcase the growing pool of creative talent in Dansoman. Samini, who has mentored artists such as Kofi Kinaata through his High Grade Family label, said the community “has a growing pool of young creatives whose work deserves greater visibility.”
Samini Xperience will run alongside the traditional carnival, organised by the Dansoman Municipal Assembly, from December 18 to 24. He described the partnership as a collaboration between his private outdoor event and the homecoming celebration, stating, “This makes the event bigger and allows us to bring everyone together.”
Unlike his Saminifest concert series that tours the country, Samini Xperience is a homecoming affair meant to bring fans together and put Dansoman on the map. The artist hopes the platform will give local talent a chance to prove that a new generation of Dansoman creatives is ready for the world.
