Samba Foods Limited announced that it returned to profitability in 2025, with total income of about GH¢1.62 million, more than double the GH¢802,000 recorded in 2024. The jump reflects a 102% increase in revenue and a sharp rise in the company’s gross‑profit margin from roughly 7% in 2024 to 42% in 2025.
Management attributed the turnaround to restored production capacity and a contract‑manufacturing arrangement with Unifa Brothers, which supplied funding, raw materials and operational support. Under the deal, Samba Foods produced about 11 million sachets of pepper sauce for the Unifa brand, accounting for roughly two‑thirds of the 2025 income.
With the partnership, the company moved from a loss after tax of approximately GH¢245,000 in 2024 to a profit after tax of about GH¢265,000 in 2025. Samba Foods also reported positive operating cash flow, a reduction in payables and a stronger year‑end cash position.
Despite the gains, the board declined to recommend a dividend for 2025, opting to retain earnings to reinforce working capital and sustain the recovery. Management plans to diversify its customer base, pursue additional contract‑manufacturing opportunities and convert intermittent export orders into regular business.
The company will monitor production consistency, capacity utilisation, gross margins and the proportion of orders from repeat customers to ensure the gains are durable.
