Miss Ghana 2026 Rumzia Sule is set to compete in the 75th Anniversary edition of Miss World, currently underway in Vietnam. She says the international stage offers a chance to present a broader Ghanaian narrative that goes beyond tourist sites, focusing on the country’s young entrepreneurs, creatives, innovators and peacebuilders.
Speaking before the festival, Sule, an International Relations and Diplomacy student, explained that a nation’s identity is shaped by its people, culture and diplomacy. “Every country has a story shaped by its people, innovation, culture and diplomacy. I want the world to see Ghana as a nation of talented young people, entrepreneurs, creatives, peacebuilders and innovators,” she told reporters.
For Sule, Miss World is more than a beauty contest; it is a platform for meaningful dialogue about Ghana’s potential. “Beauty may open the door, but meaningful conversations about our people and our potential are what leave a lasting impression,” she said.
She added that Ghana must deliberately tell its own story to give international audiences a fuller picture of the country’s strengths. “We should continue investing in telling our own stories. Ghana has so much to offer — our culture, innovation, entrepreneurship, arts, and talented young people deserve greater international visibility,” Sule said.
Her comments arrive as Ghana’s participation this year has been positioned as a showcase of the nation’s culture, heritage and national identity. Prior to her departure, the Diaspora Affairs Office at the Office of the President, together with the Ghana Tourism Authority, presented Sule with Ghana’s official gift for the Miss World Charity Auction, a symbolic piece inspired by the Independence Arch.
Sule’s academic background and long‑standing ambition to pursue a career in diplomacy influence her approach. She says becoming Miss Ghana has not replaced her dream of becoming an ambassador; instead, the crown has strengthened that ambition. “My dream of becoming an ambassador, becoming Miss Ghana, has not changed that dream — it has strengthened it. I hope to continue using leadership and service to represent Ghana on even bigger platforms in the future,” she said.
Beyond international image, Sule plans to use her reign to impact young Ghanaians through Project Inspire Ghana, a program under the Miss Ghana Foundation that focuses on youth empowerment via education, mentorship and entrepreneurship. “My goal is not only to inspire them to dream but to equip them with the tools to turn those dreams into reality,” she added.
The Miss World 2026 final will take place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
