Roma opened their Champions League campaign with a decisive 4‑0 win over Slovan Bratislava, the first European match for the Italian side since 2019.
Mario Hermoso opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a header from a Lorenzo Pellegrini free‑kick that was nudged down by Daniele Ghilardi. Five minutes later Nahuel Molina struck the back post for his first goal for the club.
In the second half Niccolo Pisilli added a quick goal after a win by Matias Soule, and Donyell Malen sealed the victory with a penalty following a foul by Cesar Blackman on Wesley Franca.
Slovan, managed by former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, were unable to respond after a late collapse against Real Madrid the previous week left them vulnerable.
The result places Roma at the top of their group and gives them a strong start to their European campaign.
