Republic Financial Holdings Limited (RFHL) and its subsidiary Republic Bank Limited (RBL) confirmed the departure of Richard S. Sammy from the Group on October 14, 2026, following an 18‑year tenure. The announcement was issued from Port of Spain, Trinidad, on October 15, 2026, by the institutions’ leadership.

Chairman of the Board Yashmid Karamath expressed gratitude for Sammy’s service, noting his “unquestionable integrity” and deep‑rooted values that guided the Group. Sammy, in turn, thanked the organisation and highlighted the strong relationships he built with customers, executive leadership and the Republic family.

RFHL stated that, subject to regulatory approval, Karen Yip Chuck will assume the roles of Group President and Chief Executive Officer of RFHL and President and Managing Director of RBL. Her appointment is scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2027.

The leadership transition marks a new chapter for the Trinidadian banking group as it prepares for the upcoming year under Yip Chuck’s stewardship.
