Prempeh Elite Academy will take on Western Region in the first semifinal of the 2026 KGL Foundation Inter‑Regional U17 Colts Championship on Friday, October 9, with a place in Sunday’s grand finale at stake.
The Academy finished top of Group A with 13 points from five matches, a run that underscored its consistency and attacking flair. Their performance has made them one of the teams to beat as they look to carry that momentum into the knockout stage.
Western Region, who finished second in Group B behind Brong Ahafo, will be eager to upset the form book and secure a place in the championship decider. Both sides have proven themselves in the group stage and will bring intensity and discipline to the match.
The second semifinal will see Group B winners Brong Ahafo take on Greater Accra at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence. Brong Ahafo’s strong group‑stage showing earned them top spot, but Greater Accra will be determined to upset their opponents and secure a place in the final.
Both semifinal winners will advance to Sunday’s championship decider at the GFA Technical Centre, where the sixth edition of the competition will reach its climax. The remaining four teams will be eager to seize the opportunity to crown their campaigns with silverware.
The championship, sponsored by the KGL Foundation, is part of the Ghana Football Association’s Talent Development Scheme, a programme aimed at identifying, developing and nurturing the next generation of Ghanaian football talent.
