The Ghana Police Service announced that 41 individuals were detained during a noon operation on Thursday, October 15, in the Lapaz and Chantan areas of Accra. The raid, carried out by the Service’s Special Operations Team, targeted alleged criminal and drug‑related activities.
Police recovered quantities of dried leaves that authorities suspect are narcotic substances from the suspects and the surrounding area. The operation also involved searches of the suspects’ premises.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the source, ownership and intended use of the seized materials. Once the evidence is fully assessed, the Police Service will decide on the appropriate legal action against any culpable parties.
