Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie told guests at his Legacy Gala in Accra that his long‑standing marriage has survived 57 years thanks to a busy schedule, Christian faith and a steadfast refusal to be distracted by other women.
Speaking candidly, Edochie said he married young and has never allowed other women to interfere with his relationship. He added that his faith has been a guiding force in staying committed.
“I’m a big Christian, and my faith has helped me stay focused,” he explained. “Women don’t distract me. I’m just being honest with you. It doesn’t mean I’m a wonderful man.”
The actor revealed that most of his time is spent at home reading or listening to classical music, leaving little room for distractions. “Most of the time I’m inside the house, playing classical music, or I’m reading some material. I’m always very busy doing one thing or the other,” he said.
He ended his remarks with a playful warning, telling the audience not to ask him that kind of question again.
