The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament adjourned its Monday sitting after the Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), Michael Harry Yamson, did not appear for the second time. The committee expressed strong displeasure, describing the absence as a show of gross disrespect to Parliament.
Chairperson Abena Osei‑Asare fumed, saying, "The Administrator takes everybody in the office out on the trip? This is gross disrespect and nothing else. The last time, the same excuse was given, and we said we were going to reschedule it and for him to appear, or a respective director to come along so that we speak to the issues." She added, "This is gross disrespect. We’ll write to the Chief of Staff about his behaviour."
The second missed appearance prompted PAC members to consider formally drawing the Chief of Staff’s attention to the matter. No business was conducted before the committee adjourned.
