Olam Agri Ghana Celebrates World Food Day by Engaging 850 Pupils

Olam Agri Ghana marked World Food Day on 16 October by hosting a nutrition and food‑security initiative for about 850 upper primary pupils at Kpone Methodist Basic School, located in the community surrounding the company’s manufacturing operations.

The event combined classroom discussions on food security and healthy eating with hands‑on food experiences, allowing students to taste freshly baked bread made with First Choice Flour and a meal prepared with First Choice Premium Spaghetti, products manufactured by Olam Agri Ghana.

Communications and Sustainability Manager Naa Dzama Amu spoke at the event, stressing that “food security is not just about the availability of food; it is also about understanding the importance of nutrition and making informed choices.” She added that engaging young people early helps build awareness and strengthens the company’s ties with surrounding communities.

Olam Agri Ghana’s outreach reflects its commitment to community engagement and its broader ambition to contribute to a more food‑secure future through both business operations and community programmes. The company reaffirmed its support for initiatives that raise awareness of nutrition and food security, especially among the youth.

World Food Day, observed annually on 16 October, highlights the need for greater food security, improved nutrition and sustainable food systems. The 2026 theme, “Innovate today, nourish tomorrow,” underscores the role of innovation and collective action in building resilient food systems for present and future generations.
