From November 10 to 18, 2026, twenty‑two officers of the New York City Police Department (NYPD) will arrive in Ghana for a humanitarian outreach mission aimed at assisting under‑privileged children and vulnerable communities. The delegation, organised by the African Law Enforcement Organization (ALEO) under the theme “To Serve and to Protect Beyond Borders,” will combine community support activities with professional exchanges to strengthen ties between law enforcement personnel in Ghana and the United States.
ALEO, a non‑profit based in Jamaica, New York, is led by President Detective Chibuzo C. Amadi. The organisation says the mission reflects its commitment to public service beyond policing and geographical boundaries, with a focus on supporting communities in need. The delegation is scheduled to visit the Ghana Police Service Headquarters on its arrival day, November 10, for a professional exchange with Ghanaian law enforcement officials, and will also pay a courtesy call at Jubilee House, the seat of Ghana’s Presidency.
The engagements are intended to promote goodwill and strengthen professional relationships between law enforcement personnel in both countries. The mission has received support from the Magho Foundation, Afro Pop and Exotical Sponges. The Magho Foundation, which was instrumental in connecting ALEO with schools and an orphanage in Ghana that it had previously supported, was facilitated by William Apau, an NYPD officer and ALEO member popularly known as Ministerapau, who founded the foundation.
Organisers say the outreach will focus on bringing practical support and encouragement to children and vulnerable people in selected Ghanaian communities. The visit reflects the role diaspora‑led organisations can play in humanitarian assistance and professional exchange between Ghana and the United States. The delegation is expected to spend eight days in Ghana, undertaking humanitarian activities and professional engagements before concluding its visit on November 18. Details of the specific communities to be visited and the items or services to be provided have not yet been outlined.
Watch for updates on the delegation’s activities and the impact of their humanitarian efforts as the mission unfolds.
