On the evening of Saturday, September 5, 2026, the campaign vehicle of Collins Nuntwiri Nuamah, the New Patriotic Party’s National Treasurer aspirant, was involved in an accident on the Kwahu road in the Eastern region. The incident occurred at about 8:30 pm while the aspirant and his team were returning from campaign activities in the Afram Plains North and South areas.
Nuamah had been scheduled to continue his campaign the following day, covering Atiwa East and West before moving on to the Kwahu bloc. Following the crash, the campaign team announced a temporary suspension of all activities to allow the aspirant to seek medical attention.
The party confirmed that Nuamah is among the aspirants cleared to contest the NPP’s 2026 National Treasurer position. The campaign team will provide further updates on his condition and the resumption of campaign activities in due course.
Observers note that the incident comes at a critical time in the party’s pre‑election push, and the outcome of Nuamah’s recovery will likely influence the momentum of the NPP’s treasurer race.
