The National Identification Authority (NIA) has broadened its Ghana Card replacement service to selected Prestige 24/7 Centres across the country, adding an online application portal for Ghanaians living overseas. Executive Secretary Wisdom Koku Deku announced the move on Facebook on Monday, October 19, 2026, noting that applicants can now access the service through the NIA’s online portal and at the four operational Prestige 24/7 Centres in Labone, Sakumono, Bantama and Suame. The Amakom Prestige 24/7 Centre is slated to begin offering the service shortly.
Those who prefer in‑person service can also use the online portal at register.nia.gov.gh to apply for a replacement card. The digital option now enables Ghanaians in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, France, Italy, Belgium, Germany and Denmark to apply without traveling to Ghana.
Mr Deku added that an update service will be added to the portal soon, signalling the NIA’s intent to expand its digital offerings. The Authority reiterated its commitment to efficient and accessible services under its slogan, “Providing Future Solutions Now.”
