NDC Urges Newly Elected Executives to Keep Commitment for 2028

On Monday, Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, the Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), addressed newly elected constituency executives at Odorgonno Senior High School in Ayaa‑Sowutuom. He urged the new leaders to sustain the dedication they displayed during their campaigns and to work diligently toward the party’s success in the 2028 general elections.

Speaking to reporters while watching the local constituency elections unfold, Mr Chaie said the enthusiasm candidates showed in seeking executive positions must translate into hard work after assuming office. “The enthusiasm with which people are contesting is the same enthusiasm, dedication, that after winning they need to work,” he said.

He urged the new executives to justify the confidence delegates had placed in them by working effectively and supporting the NDC’s preparations for the next general elections. Mr Chaie also praised the peaceful conduct of the youth and women’s elections, but called for tighter security as voting in the main constituency elections drew to a close. “Normally, when the process is about to end, that is where we need to strengthen security and make sure that the way the process has run, we end very successfully,” he added.

Party officials were stationed at designated areas to monitor developments and coordinate activities, ensuring effective supervision of the process. The NDC’s call for sustained commitment comes as the party gears up for the 2028 general elections, aiming to build on the momentum generated in the recent constituency polls.
