The National Democratic Congress has reminded candidates with concerns over its constituency executive elections to first exhaust internal dispute‑resolution channels. Deputy Director of Elections Rashid Tanko‑Computer spoke to Citi News Digest on Saturday, October 24, urging contestants to approach the party’s election committees at polling stations and constituency levels for complaints and dispute resolution.
“We always have a team at the national headquarters that deals with matters of this nature. We have an election committee that deals with them. If you have any issue, you appeal to the election task force or the committee to deal with the matter,” he said.
Tanko‑Computer explained that cases that could not be resolved locally would be referred to the national election committee for further action. He added that, so far, no issue had reached the national level, indicating that constituency‑level mechanisms were effective.
Meanwhile, the sorting and counting of ballot papers in the NDC’s constituency executive elections at Odododiodioo in the Greater Accra Region were suspended after violence erupted shortly after voting concluded.
