On Thursday, October 22, 2026, Nana Kwarteng Apegyabie Prempeh II, the chairman of the Federation of Kumasi Traders Association, was enstooled as the new chief of Nerebehi in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality. The ceremony, held at the Bantama Palace, saw him swear allegiance to the existing Bantamahene, Baffour Owusu Amankwatia IV.
Prempeh, who is also known privately as Nana Akwasi Prempeh, was nominated on July 31, 2026 after receiving unanimous support from the kingmakers. Hundreds of residents, chiefs and family members from Nerebehi gathered at the palace to witness the formalisation of his new role.

As Bantamahene Apakanhene, he will oversee Nerebehi and twelve surrounding communities. In his address, the Bantamahene urged him to unite the people and accelerate development in the area. Prempeh pledged to lead with humility, serve his people and remain available to the Bantamahene whenever required.

He thanked the Bantamahene, his elders, the Nerebehi community and its traditional leaders for their support, and called on his subjects to rally behind him to promote unity and progress.
The community welcomed the new chief’s nomination, describing him as a unifying leader committed to local development.
