The Ghana Police Service announced that Harold Norman, the spouse of fashion icon Rosemond Akua Adobea—better known as Nana Akua Addo—will be arraigned as soon as he is discharged from the hospital. The decision comes after videos and images circulated online that reportedly show Nana Akua Addo with visible injuries and her child allegedly subjected to physical violence.
In a statement dated Wednesday, October 7, 2026, the Police said the Director‑General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) received a petition from Nana Akua Addo on August 20. The petition alleged that her husband had subjected her to physical, emotional and economic abuse.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the couple had previously been handled by the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Lakeside and Ministries Police Stations in July 2026. Harold Norman was arrested at his residence on August 27 to assist with investigations, was later cautioned and granted Police enquiry bail with two sureties on August 29 while investigations continued.
Norman was due to appear in court on Wednesday, October 7, but his lawyer informed investigators that he had been admitted to hospital and was unable to attend. “Investigators from DOVVSU have visited the said hospital to verify the claim and are monitoring the situation to ensure he is arraigned immediately upon discharge from the hospital,” the Police said.

The CID and the Gender Ministry are also working to ensure the provision of social welfare support for Nana Akua Addo and her child.
Police officials said the arraignment will take place immediately after Norman’s discharge, and the case will proceed under the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit’s jurisdiction.
