Lawrence Mensah, better known as Muzic Mensah, began his music career in 2004 as a gospel artiste, recording and performing Christian‑themed songs for a decade. His tenure in the gospel sector ended in 2014 after he cited structural challenges within the industry, including limited financial backing and promotional support for musicians working in local church circles.
After several years away from the spotlight, Mensah resurfaced in 2021 under the name Muzic Mensah, this time pursuing contemporary Highlife and Afrobeats. Under Triple M Records he has released tracks such as “Obi Besú” (2023), “Lady in Red” (2024) and “All Correct” (2026). These songs blend traditional Ghanaian Highlife guitar arrangements with modern Afro‑pop production.
The shift has allowed Mensah to explore themes beyond his earlier gospel repertoire. His current catalogue focuses on resilience, confidence, relationships and personal growth, while still retaining elements of the musical traditions that shaped him.
Dividing his time between Ghana and the United States, Mensah continues to develop his identity as a Highlife artiste and build a catalogue aimed at audiences in Ghana and the diaspora.
