Matilda Domfegro, a fashion student, was crowned Miss Tourism Ghana 2026 at the grand finale held last Friday at the National Theatre in Accra. She emerged victorious after competing against seven other finalists who had undergone intensive activities and grooming sessions.

The event tested contestants in Regional Representation, Specific Tourism Presentation and a Q&A session where they showcased their knowledge of Ghana’s tourism potential before a panel of judges.

Domfegro was declared the overall winner, with Adwoa Nyarko Owusu‑Sarfo and Agnes Nuworzah taking the 1st and 2nd princess titles respectively. In a statement to the media, the new titleholder expressed excitement about wearing the crown and her readiness to leave a lasting legacy by promoting Ghana’s tourist sites.

She highlighted that collaboration with stakeholders and strategic planning could drive massive growth in the tourism sector. “Tourism is the mother of all sectors because it has many other industries along its value chain. I call on everyone to come on board,” she added.
