President John Dramani Mahama is set to begin a two‑day working visit to the Ahafo Region on Friday, October 9, to inspect ongoing development projects and engage residents on government policies and local economic growth.
The tour, part of his Resetting Ghana Tour, will focus on key infrastructure and agribusiness projects, including the poultry, meat and feed processing facility in Bechem in the Tano South Municipality.
The President is also expected to inspect the Tepa–Goaso Road project, which is being undertaken under the government’s Big Push Programme, as well as the Ntontroso Bridge linking Acherensua, one of the region’s major food‑producing areas.
Key government officials will accompany the President, including Food and Agriculture Minister Eric Opoku, Roads and Highways Minister Kwame Agbodza, Trade, Agribusiness and Industry Minister Elizabeth Ofosu‑Adjare, and Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Minister Mahama Ayariga. Ahafo Regional Minister Charity Gardiner and other officials will also join the delegation.
The working tour will conclude on Saturday, October 10, with a town‑hall meeting at the Victory Centre Assemblies of God Church in Goaso, where the President is scheduled to interact with residents under the banner #ResettingGhana Citizens Engagement with President Mahama.
The engagement will give chiefs and residents the opportunity to share concerns, provide feedback on government initiatives and discuss development priorities for the region. The President and his delegation will also brief participants on ongoing regional projects and national interventions.
