Four journalists with Luv FM, a subsidiary of the Multimedia Group Limited in Kumasi, have been named among 19 shortlisted reporters for the 2026 Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Media Excellence Awards in the Ashanti region.
The nominees – Clinton Yeboah, Nana Boakye Dankwah Yiadom, Emmanuel Bright Quaicoe and Mahmud Mohammed‑Nurudeen – will be honoured for their investigative reporting and community impact across 11 award categories, ranging from health and environment to business and entertainment.
The nomination list, released Monday, October 19, features journalists from major media houses such as Media General, Citi FM/Channel One TV, the Ghana News Agency and Graphic Online. The shortlist will be announced at the awards ceremony on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the Longford Royal Events Centre in Odeneho Kwadaso, Kumasi.
Veteran journalist Kofi Badu, Chief of Staff at the Manhyia Palace, has also been shortlisted for an honorary award recognising his lifelong contribution to journalism.
The event, themed “Celebrating Excellence, Championing Credibility: Journalism in the Age of AI”, aims to reward outstanding journalistic works produced in 2025 and to promote high standards in media practice.
Luv FM/JoyNews led the institutional tally with 12 entries, followed by Media General’s Akoma FM/Onua TV/TV3/3SportsGH with eight. Citi FM/Channel One TV logged seven entries, while the Ghana News Agency had four.
