24-Hour Economy Secretariat Extends LePIP EOI Deadline to October 31

The 24‑Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme Secretariat announced that the deadline for prospective tenants to submit Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the Legon Pharmaceutical Innovation Park (LePIP) has been extended to 31 October 2026.

LePIP, a flagship project under the 24‑Hour Economy Programme, is a 2,000‑acre pharmaceutical and life‑sciences industrial ecosystem that will begin with a 40‑hectare pilot manufacturing platform in the Osudoku/Ningo‑Prampram enclave of the Greater Accra Region.

The extension is intended to give eligible pharmaceutical manufacturers and other prospective businesses additional time to apply to establish operations within the park, which aims to strengthen local production, reduce dependence on imported medicines, attract investment, expand exports and create sustainable employment.

Planned facilities include reliable electricity and water, shared utilities, centralised quality control and testing laboratories, warehousing, cold‑chain facilities, environmental management systems, regulatory support and digital infrastructure. The park is projected to create more than 3,000 direct jobs in its first phase, with an estimated 30,000 additional jobs in subsequent phases, plus thousands of indirect opportunities across manufacturing, packaging, logistics, engineering and research.

A Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Centre of Excellence, in partnership with the University of Ghana, is expected to supply over 1,000 skilled workers to the industry within five years.

Eligible businesses are encouraged to submit their EOIs before the revised deadline via the online form at https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/DCD5KF90zW.

The move is part of the government’s broader effort to strengthen domestic productive capacity, create jobs and position Ghana as a competitive pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution hub for West Africa and the wider African market.
