On Friday, November 7, 2026, the UPSA Auditorium in Accra will host Lekzy Unleashed – The Godfathers Edition, a comedy night that reunites Ghana’s pioneering stand‑up stars with the next generation of performers. The event is organised by two‑time Ghana Comedian of the Year, Lekzy Decomic, who said the appearance of KSM, Fritz Baffour and Tommy Annan Forson would be a major highlight, taking audiences back to an era when comedy was just beginning to find a foothold in mainstream Ghanaian entertainment.
Fritz Baffour and Tommy Annan Forson first stepped onto the stage in 1987, when the idea of earning a living through laughter was still a novelty. KSM, meanwhile, proved comedy’s commercial potential, drawing huge crowds and staging 13 sold‑out shows at the National Theatre. Lekzy said the night would also allow him to acknowledge the pioneers whose work created the platform for young comics today.
The line‑up will feature contemporary comedians such as Clemento Suarez, DKB, Foster Romanus, Jeneral Ntatia, Kwaku Manu, Khemikal, Mr Beautiful, David Oscar, Parrot Mouth, Percy Obrempong, James Brown and Jeffery Nortey. South African comic Chris Mapane will also appear, and rapper Okyeame Kwame is expected to add a musical touch to the evening.
Following a string of successful specials – including CanPAIN MESSage, Too Cute to Be Mute, Too Cute to Be Mute Amplified and Funny Boy Innit – Lekzy Unleashed promises a blend of nostalgia and fresh comedy that will appeal to fans of all ages. The show is set to run until midnight, with tickets already selling fast among comedy lovers across the city.
Those who wish to experience a night of laughter that bridges generations should secure their seats soon, as the event is expected to sell out quickly given the star‑studded roster and the historic significance of the gathering.
