Seth Kwame Dzokoto, 51, known nationwide for his role as Judge Koboo in the popular television series Efiewura, died after collapsing during a radio programme at Owass Radio in the Tarkwa‑Nsuaem Municipality of the Western Region on Thursday, October 22, 2026.
He was rushed to a hospital in Tarkwa, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, reports from a source in the National Democratic Congress (NDC), of which he was a member, confirm.
Dzokoto’s passing follows weeks of social media posts showing him unwell. The entertainer’s career spanned acting, comedy, television presenting, radio broadcasting and voice‑over work, making him a familiar face and voice across Ghanaian media.
He first rose to prominence with Efiewura, a local TV hit in which his portrayal of Judge Koboo endeared him to audiences nationwide. He also hosted TV3’s food and tourism programme Edziban, showcasing Ghanaian cuisine and culture.
Beyond the screen, Dzokoto worked at Skyy Power FM in Takoradi and Hello FM in Kumasi, and he ventured into politics as an NDC candidate for the Tarkwa‑Nsuaem parliamentary seat in 2016, although he did not win.
In August 2025, he earned a master’s degree in Defence and International Politics from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College. He was recently seen at the media launch of The 70 Slate: A Cinematic Celebration of Ghana at 70, a three‑film collaboration commemorating the country’s 70th independence anniversary, where he was cast among the film’s ensemble.
Dzokoto’s death marks the loss of a versatile entertainer who connected with audiences across multiple platforms and contributed to Ghana’s cultural landscape. Tributes are expected from industry peers and political allies alike.
